Energizing or sleepy?
Mostly energizing. Leafly places Mimosa on the energizing side of its scale and its editors file it among the best strains for feeling uplifted, while Leafly’s own description says large doses may bring sleepiness and relaxation.1,4 The parents pull in opposite directions: Leafly rates Clementine energizing and Purple Punch mostly calming, with sleepy as Purple Punch’s top effect (see genetics).8,9 Seed sellers describe the same split, a lift first and body relaxation later or at higher doses.5,6
Why two batches can feel different
Potency alone varies widely: one in ten lab-tested batches came in under 15.06% THC and one in ten above 24.55%.10 Phenotypes differ too: GreenState says the smell ranges from sweet candy-like citrus to rotten orange peel and skunk, and the breeders say plants that lean toward the Purple Punch F2 father take on a fruit-punch-like profile.11 Add seed versions from several companies and other strains sold under similar names, and two jars labelled Mimosa can be noticeably different flower.5,6,12,13
