How published THC figures compare
Strain databases publish a single figure or a range: Leafly lists 19% and AllBud 19–27%.2,3 Seed sellers advertise 20% (ILGM), 22% (Zamnesia) and up to 22% (Royal Queen Seeds) for their seed versions, and Barney’s Farm 30% for Mimosa EVO, a cross with Orange Punch.4,5,6,7 In state lab results, 90% of Mimosa flower tested below 24.55%, so the top of AllBud’s range lies in the strongest tenth of results rather than describing typical flower; the highest single result in our data was 31.76%.1
The median has barely moved. In every year with at least 100 tests (2020–2023) the yearly median stayed between 19.67% and 20.21%. Among states with at least 100 tests, the median ran from 18.53% in Nevada to 20.85% in Washington.1 By median the leading terpenes are β-myrcene 0.30%, β-caryophyllene 0.19%, limonene 0.18% (percent by weight), and total terpenes ran 1.13% across 372 tests.1 Leafly lists myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene, and the breeder’s description on SeedFinder mentions limonene and beta-caryophyllene.2,8

Limits of this data
- Coverage is uneven. Michigan (289), Maryland (186), Nevada (181), Washington (142) supply most of the 844 tests, which date from 2018 to 2024; Oregon and Rhode Island results carry no product names and could not be matched.
- Some labs report higher THC than others, so we publish medians and middle ranges rather than maxima. No single lab accounts for more than 14.8% of these tests (38 labs in total).
- Terpene medians come from 193 tests with individual terpene values, 179 of them from Nevada labs. Maryland reports only total terpenes (181 tests), and Washington, Michigan and Hawaii report none.
- We matched names strictly: crosses and near-miss names are excluded and counted (1,640 results, the largest group labelled "Mimosa - MMS", others such as "Burmese Mimosa"), and duplicate certificates are removed. Bare numbers count as lot codes, so numbered labels such as "Mimosa #3" are inside the sample.
