Growing
Growing Mimosa: flowering time, yield and breeder specs
Leafly rates Mimosa easy to grow, with an 8–9 week flowering time, a medium yield and a short-to-medium plant; Weedmaps puts flowering at around nine weeks and SeedFinder’s entry for the breeder’s original at about 60 days. Feminized seed versions from Royal Queen Seeds and Zamnesia are sold as easy too.1,2,3,4,5

What the plant is like
Expect a medium-sized plant with dense flowers: Weedmaps describes spade-shaped, light-green colas coated in sugary resin and spotted with orange stigmas, and GreenState dense colas that turn purple at the tips.2,8 AllBud describes small, rounded, dense olive-green buds with dark orange hairs, and Royal Queen Seeds’ version patches of dark purple and dark green on a compact plant.4,9
What to watch for
Phenotypes vary. GreenState describes smells from sweet candy-like citrus to rotten orange peel and skunk, and the breeders say phenotypes that lean toward the Purple Punch F2 father take on a fruit-punch-like profile.8 Know what a seed listing is: the breeder’s 2017 release was 400 packs of regular seed, Weedmaps says seeds are reportedly difficult to source, and the feminized seeds sold today are other companies’ versions.2,3,8
Seeds and the law in the US
Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.10 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.11 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
